The Convenio Project 2, supported by AECID and Manos Unidas, is now on its 4th year implementation. ZABIDA through its member-organization, Nagdilaab Foundation, Inc. conducted an Impact Assessment – Focus Group Discussion (FDG) on Climate Change Adaptation. The FGD was headed by Jocelyn Zabala, Coordination and Networking Officer. The FGD was participated by the CCA Alliance coming from the different Institution/ Organization; Claret Samal Foundation Inc., Prelature of Isabela de Basilan, Claret College of Isabela, Isabela Water District, Basilan Ulama Supreme Council and Maluso Water District. Significant community leaders in the Partner-Barangays of Katilingban Sa Kalambuan Inc. (KKI), Reach-Out to Others Foundation, Inc. (ROOF) in Zamboanga City and Nagdilaab Foundation, Inc. (NFI) in Basilan were brought together last February 1 for ROOF and NFI then on February 2 for KKI to evaluate their knowledge and experience in Gender And Development in their respective Barangays.
Department of Budget and Management Specialist Mr. Mark Martin discussed about the GAD Planning and Budgeting for Barangays. The activity allowed the participants to re-assess their implemented and un-implemented GAD Plans for year 2017.
With the help of facilitators Ms. Maisie Faith Dagapioso and Jurgett Honculado also served as the ZABIDA GAD Program Researcher, the majority of the participants expressed their personal sentiments and misunderstandings on Gender and its effect to Community Development.
ZABIDA, through its GAD Awareness Program and GAD Research, it envisions to further strengthen its approach in addressing GAD concerns and issues to effectively support the GAD Programs of their Partner-Barangays.

Through the Verde Zamboanga, Inc., the Community Tree Planting activities continue for the rehabilitation and reforestation of forest trees in the different areas in the city.
As the year 2018 started, the Youth Task Force of Labuan spearheaded a Tree Planting Activity on January 25 in Barangay Labuan. Around 300 seedlings of narra variety sponsored by Zamboanga City Water District (ZCWD) were planted.
The activity was joined by selected students and teachers from Labuan National High School, TFZ-Lapu Lapu Troopers, Bureau of Fire Protection, PNP-Labuan station and Coast Guard. Barangay Local Government Unit-Labuan, ZABIDA and Verde Zamboanga support the various environmental initiatives of the sectors for the Climate Change Adaptation advocacies.

1st Interreligious Solidarity for Peace (ISP) monthly meeting for 2018 took place at Garden Orchid Hotel with around 20 attendees from the different religious group.
Present were the 4 Conveners of the ISP namely Fr. Angel Calvo, CMF – Catholic and the Lead Convener of ISP, Professor Ali Yacub, Al-Hj – Muslim Convener, Atty. Paulino Ersando – Evangelical Conver. and Panglima Amilpasa Bandaying representing the Indigenous People. The Conveners discussed the future of ISP. (Albert Putong/PAZ)
