IDP HR Advocacy Planning Workshop Held.

On September 20, about 70 Internally Displaced Persons from Mampang 1 and Mampang 2 transitory sites participated in the Human Rights Advocacy Planning Workshop held at the Ateneo De Zamboanga University, La Purisima St. this city.

Organized by Zamboanga-Basilan Integrated Development Alliance, Inc.(ZABIDA) in partnership with ADZU-Social Awareness and Community Service Involvement (Office), Integrated Resource Development for Tri-people (IRDT), and Commission on Human Rights (CHR), the activity became a venue for the IDPs to share their personal experiences and conducted a Human Rights which are the most violated from the major human rights for the IDPs through the UNGPID (United Nations Guiding Principles on Internal Displaced persons, that was earlier Oriented by Atty. Cristina Marie Eugenie R. Javier-Jimenez, IDP Focal Person from the CHR.

In order to promote these human rights campaigns, the IDPs used the Art painting as an Advocacy Tool.
This is the fifth sectoral Human Rights Advocacy Planning workshop held in this year under the Convenio program of ZABIDA. Prior to this, The Women, Farmers/Fisherfolk, Persons With Disabilities, and Youth were already conducted; the Indigenous Peoples, Urban/Landless and Children are the next sectors that will conduct the same activity.
