New Campus Ministry and Interfaith Pad Opens in State U

STUDENT formation in the Western Mindanao State University (WMSU) has moved literally closer to the center of campus life with the inauguration last February 15 of the university’s new Campus Ministry and Interfaith Dialogue Center building.

This is a place to find meaning in our lives, a place of solidarity and peace and joy, WMSU President Dr. Grace Rebollos told the assembled students and officials during the short inauguration ceremony.

With the center located in the heart of the campus, Dr. Rebollos said, students will not only grow intellectually but also spiritually.

Center head Sr. Therry Cagatin said money for the construction of the quarter-million peso building came from a donation by Spanish foundation that was arranged by her congregation, the Spinola Sisters.

The center will be the venue for seminars, workshops, recollections, meetings and other activities of the members of WMSU’s campus ministry student volunteers. Sr. Cagatin said the center will host interfaith dialogue and related activities, too.

Claertian priest Fr. Max Rodriguez blessed the building. Spinola sisters Angeles Martinez and Dolores Rojano witnessed the inauguration, too.
