PAZ, ISP Calls For Application for the Young Peace Weaver Awards 2016

Peace Advocates Zamboanga (PAZ), a non-government organization in the City working for peace and development together with the leading interfaith group in the city—Interreligious Solidarity for Peace (ISP) on Wednesday (February 10) had officially announced the calling for application for the Young Peace Weavers Award for the graduating students for the school year 2015-2016.

Annually, PAZ and ISP are searching for graduating students from the different schools, state universities and colleges who had extended extra efforts to promote peace against the culture of war in the respective learning institutions and communities.

However, due to the full implementation of the K+12 curriculum of the Department of Education (DepEd), high school students will not be having their graduation ceremonies this year and therefore, no awardees will be recognized from the secondary level.

“The Young Peace Weavers are known to have shown excellence in leadership, service dedication and commitment to peace in their various priorities, involvement and careers. Thus, we would like to welcome again new set of Young Peace Weavers,” said Rosie France M. Montojo, the Program Coordinator of PAZ.

The guidelines and mechanics for the search for the Young Peace Weavers Award are the following:

3. By his/her personal behavior or activities have achieved a reputation as a model of friendship, goodwill or communal/social solidarity.
