PAZ Renewed and Strengthened Partnership to 22 Public Schools in the City Via Logiscal Support

Agencia Española de Cooperación Internacional para de Desarrollo (AECID) and Peace Advocates Zamboanga (PAZ) in partnership with Department of Education – Division of Zamboanga City Office successfully conducted the Turn-Over Ceremony and MOA Signing of Logistical Support last March 15, 2016 at DepEd Training Center, Melaño Calixto Street, Zamboanga City.

The event marked a renewed and strengthened partnership between PAZ and DepEd-Division of Zamboanga City, together with the public schools on ensuring that the schools are conflict-free and a zone of peace through the Culture Of Peace frameworks, sustain the efforts and collaborative works through the institutionalization of Peace Education in the basic education curriculum.

The activity was participated by the 22 Public School partners who were identified by PAZ as beneficiaries for the second batch of the support. The 22 schools were represented by School Heads/Principals together with the school’s Peace Education Coordinator. The logistical support was in a form of training facilities/equipments, handheld radios, and monobloc chairs. These were identified by the partner schools through constant coordination and consultation, and have expressed and requested such support in response to Peace Education, Disaster Preparedness, Gender & Development, and Peace & Security.

The activity was formally capped with the official turn-over of logistical support and signing of the Memorandum of Agreement between PAZ represented by Fr. Angel C. Calvo CMF, DepEd-Division of Zamboanga City Office represented by Mr. Pedro Melchor M. Natividad CSEE, and the different School Heads and Peace Education Coordinators.

Natividad , together with his Team in the Division have been very supportive in the peace-related activities enjoining school teachers and students.

The 22 Public Schools were the following: Talon-Talon National High School, Arena Blanco National High School, Ayala National High School, Sinunuc National High School, Maria Clara Lorenzo Lobregat National High School, Tolosa National High School, Curuan National High School, Tagasilay National High School, Limpapa National High School, Sinubong National High School, Zamboanga National High School West, Recodo National High School, Capisan National High School, Culianan National High School, Cabaluay National High School, Tuan Datu Hadji Abdulla Nuño Memorial High School, Manicahan National High School, Sangali National High School, Bolong National High School, Sibulao National High School, Limaong National High School, and Canelar Elementary School.
