Zambo Ateneo’s Mid-Year Alumni Fest Dubbed a Success

Zamboanga City – The Ateneo Alumni Association-sponsored Midyear Alumni Festivities 2008 held last August 2 & 3 at the Ateneo campus in La Purisima was a success.

Zamboanga City Mayor Celso L. Lobregat and Congresswoman Ma. Isabella Climaco graced the ribbon cutting ceremonies together with Bro. Raymond Belleza, SJ and officers of the Ateneo Alumni Association during the opening ceremonies in the morning of Saturday, August 2.

Some 76 traders participated in the Trade Expo which was held at the Multi-Purpose Covered Courts. This was also co- sponsored with the Zamboanga City Chamber of Commerce & Industry headed by its President James Makasiar.

A total of 711 prospective job applicants registered for the Job Fair held at the Grade School area where 21 companies participated.

The free medical and dental consultation at the Ateneo Community Health Center, which was assisted by the Ateneo Center of Community Extension Services, catered to 181 patients for dental, pedia, eye examination and medical checkups. Free medicines donated by the Zamboanga City Medical Society, City Health Office and Department of Health were also given to indigent patients.

Some 92 participants joined the livelihood and entrepreneurship seminars conducted by the Department of Trade & Industry, Philippine Coconut Authority, Department of Science & Technology and TESDA.
